The Wine Social Club by The Lodge is a leisure experience. People come together here, along with the wine and the best seasonal ingredients from an unpretentious cuisine, which reduces to the perfect formula for a wine experience. This is a unique wine experience, where two or more producers are always present. Informally, they explain the vineyards, grape varieties, blends, and terroirs of each wine, propose a tasting, and together with the meal served at the communal table, replicate the table of the diners of the Alto Douro Vinhateiro.
In the “Sala dos Trinta”, where the wine culture is in the air, the magic lies in the constant harmonisation of people. It’s a simple journey between a showcooking, wine tasting, and casual conversations about the culture of wine. The Wine Social Club by The Lodge is our new concept that will make you feel at home, surrounded by comfort, elegance, know-how, and good times.

The sublime Douro takes us on a journey of discovery of emotions and sensations. The perfect ingredients are combined, the vineyard par excellence and all the seasonal products that are arranged on the Mesa dos Trinta.
For each event at the Wine Social Club by The Lodge, Chef João Vieira proposes an explosion of flavours that will fit in with the choices of the producers, who will welcome you. Two or more distinct regions come together at a comfortable table where everyone will feel like they’re in their own dining room, sharing unique and unforgettable moments.

Chef João Vieira embodies the love for ingredients and food through the graceful hands that prepare them and his enormous kindness with those who taste his delicacies.
He is a man who has found his passion and generosity in the kitchen. He lives to create and recreate the best in gastronomy. He shares all his love in training leaders and at the heart of his cooking is the search for the most balanced recipe, to provide others with an explosion of emotions when tasting his cuisine.
Chef João Vieira is responsible for the kitchen at the Dona Maria restaurant, located in The Lodge Hotel.
